This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in ensuring students have the financial resources they need to thrive in their education.The Role: What You'll DoAs an essential part of the Student Support and Safeguarding team, you will coordinate all aspects of the college's bursaries. Your day-to-day duties will include:
  • Bursary Administration: Process student bursary applications, check all required documentation, and allocate funds in a timely manner.
  • Student Support: Respond to bursary-related enquiries from students via email, phone, and in-person drop-ins, providing clear guidance and support.
  • Financial Coordination: Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure bursary payments are made regularly and accurately throughout the year.
  • Policy & Reporting: Assist with the annual review of bursary policies and procedures, and compile data for appeals and key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
  • General Administration: Maintain accurate and confidential records on college systems, support with wider administrative duties during peak periods, and contribute to the Student Services front desk.
The Ideal Candidate: Who We're Looking ForWe are seeking a detail-oriented and professional individual with significant administrative and customer service experience. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Qualifications: A good level of education, including GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), with a Level 3 in Business Administration being highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a busy administrative role, particularly with using bespoke ICT software and databases. Experience in a post-16 educational environment is a plus.
  • Skills & Abilities: Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and manage your own workload, and strong communication skills. You should also be able to work with young people with patience and understanding.
  • Flexibility: The willingness to work flexibly and travel between the Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses as required.
  • Professionalism: A high level of personal integrity, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and a genuine interest in helping others.
