
Air Freight Coordinator

- Coordinate end-to-end freight forwarding processes with a primary focus on air import shipments.
- Manage shipments across all modes (air, road and sea) to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely clearance and delivery of goods.
- Prepare, process, and manage all relevant import and export documentation, including air waybills, customs entries, invoices, quoting and packing lists.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC and international import/export regulations, including customs clearance procedures.
- Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolving any delays or issues to maintain a high level of service.
- Maintain accurate records and update systems
- Provide excellent customer service by keeping clients informed throughout the shipping process and handling all import-related enquiries.
- Negotiate rates and liaise with suppliers, airlines, and agents to ensure cost-effective transport solutions.
- Track KPIs and ensure targets related to cost, accuracy, and timeliness are met or exceeded.
- Handle post-flight documentation, final mile deliveries, and invoice generation.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as warehousing, customs, and finance for seamless operations.
- Proven experience in freight forwarding, preferably within a multimodal logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, Incoterms, and international trade regulations.
- Experience using freight forwarding software and customs platforms (e.g., ASM Sequoia, Descartes, and CDS).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
