  • Hold a 2:1 degree or higher in a relevant subject (e.g., Psychology, Education, Child Development, Social Work)
  • Be a confident communicator, able to build trust with pupils, staff, and families
  • Show resilience and patience, especially when supporting challenging behaviours
  • Be genuinely passionate about working with children with additional needs and considering a future in SEN teaching, child psychology, therapy, or social care
Your Role as a Graduate SEN Teaching AssistantAs part of the classroom support team, you’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored, meaningful support.Day-to-day responsibilities include: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Assisting in adapting lesson materials to meet pupils’ specific learning goals
  • Supporting communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, and visual schedules
  • Aiding students with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Recording progress and contributing to pupil development reviews
