Description and requirementsAs the L&D Manager you will deliver learning and development initiatives that drive talent development, employee competencies and organisational performance. You will also partner with Operating Unit leadership, project directors and line managers to embed a culture of continuous learning and development aligned with Skanska's values.What you'll do:
  • Lead the development and implementation of learning and development initiatives aligned with the Infrastructure and HS2 operating units and 'one Skanska' philosophy, including supporting infrastructure sector-specific skills initiatives (e.g. tunnelling, energy) Design, deliver and evaluate learning interventions that enhance technical skills and leadership capabilities across the operating units (e.g. line manager training).
  • Partner with a Business Unit Capability area to identify and address competency gaps using learning needs analysis
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Operating Unit leadership, project directors, HRBPs, SCS training team, line managers, as well as L&D Managers in other operating units, to ensure L&D initiatives meet evolving business needs. Support the Operating Unit quarterly Talent Review process and demonstrate tangible outputs in relation to the development of OULT successors.
  • Support talent identification and succession planning including through targeted development interventions and project/sector talent reviews.
What you'll bring to the role:
  • An ability to build relationships with stakeholders, coach line managers, and influence senior leaders.
  • Ability to role model Skanska's values.
  • An ability to proactively sell a vision and assemble a team to deliver.
  • Experience in leading learning and development initiatives in a complex, project-based environment.
  • Experience of key L&D functions including training facilitation; succession planning; learning needs analysis
