
Consultant Gastroenterologist

- To carry out all duties at the highest possible standard and in accordance with current quality initiatives within your area of work
- Cover for colleagues annual leave and other authorised absence;
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time;
- A willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels;

- To have knowledge of and employ the basic principles of infection control practice and to ensure adherence to the requirements in the Infection Control Manual.

- Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview
- Membership of Royal College of Physicians or show evidence of equivalent qualification
- Progress towards or attainment of college exams
- Postgraduate thesis
- Completed fellowship programme
- An appropriate higher degree
- Experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the job plan
- Understanding of all aspects of Gastroenterology and GI Endoscopy
- Five years supervised training in an appropriate SpR equivalent training programme
- Attendance at Train the trainers Course in Endoscopy
- Demonstrable ability as a teacher with evidence of training for the role
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
