Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapist Band 7 - Livers and Oncology Service.Do you an interest in furthering your paediatric Liver and Oncology specialist skills and expertise?We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our friendly Livers and Oncology team. The post offers the opportunity to work holistically within the busy and specialist areas of Liver Transplant and Oncology services. Assessing and managing a varied caseload of children with acute and chronic needs.Supervision, leadership and teaching are integral to the role. There will be opportunities to lead in service development, audit and research. The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills is essential to work effectively within the MDT.The successful candidate will be required to participate in the out of hours respiratory rota and work flexibly to meet the needs of an evolving service.Post is for 0.4 permanent hours. We also have an additional 0.2 WTE fixed term for two years available to be added to the permanent hours.Main duties of the jobTo share in the organisation, coordination and delivery of the physiotherapy service to patients with Liver disease/failure (including intestinal failure) and Oncological and Haematological conditions. This will involve input to wards, outpatient settings, community visits and liaison with other professionals. * Lead in the development of clinical guidelines/procedures within the specialist area and contribute towards the development of Trust-wide guidelines.
  • Lead in clinical audit/research to promote quality standards and evidence-based practice, including the utilisation of current research.
Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work including the management of complex patients requiring specialised paediatric physiotherapy intervention.Undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients, using investigative and analytical skills, and formulate individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning, and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options to formulate a specialised programme of care. * Provide clinical supervision, education and support to all senior and junior physiotherapists, assistants and students ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Exercise leadership within the Physiotherapy service and acute team by taking on wider responsibilities.
