- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Excellent subject knowledge of the English curriculum at KS3 and KS4

- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that align with the curriculum.
- Support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations with tailored strategies and interventions.
- Contribute to the development of English department schemes of work.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
- Promote a love of English through extracurricular activities, such as book clubs or writing workshops.
