Location: Near Totton, SouthamptonPosition Overview:Supply Desk is working in partnership with a secondary school located close to Totton, Southampton, to recruit a committed Food Technology Teacher. This maternity cover role begins in October 2025 and will run until July 2026, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4.The successful candidate will be joining a supportive Design & Technology department, dedicated to engaging students in practical and creative learning. This opportunity is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators with a passion for Food Technology.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Encourage students to develop essential cooking skills, healthy eating knowledge, and a passion for food.
- Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Contribute to departmental development and curriculum planning.
- Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour, and achievement.
- A mixed 11–16 secondary school based close to Totton, Southampton.
- Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (2022) with a positive ethos and inclusive culture.
- Supportive Senior Leadership Team committed to staff wellbeing and development.
- Easily accessible with strong transport links.
- A degree in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or a related subject (essential).
- QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification (preferred).
- Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4.
