- Strategic leadership and digital transformation: Provide visible and values-led leadership setting a clear vision and building a high-performing, motivated and accountable function that delivers exceptional service across RPS Services and parent company Tetra Tech.
- Recruit, develop and retain a digitally skilled team, creating a culture of ownership, innovation, and excellence, where colleagues are empowered to lead, learn and grow.
- Lead the further development of RPS Services and Tetra Tech's digital strategy, ensuring it continues to evolve in line with organisational priorities, services user needs, and external opportunities.
- Manage an annual budget to support delivery of the digital strategy and ensure effective use of resources, software solutions, AI, data, and digital innovation.
- Lead the safe and effective adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies across the operating unit, ensuring their use is ethical, appropriate, and aligned with Tetra Tech guidance and policy.
- Horizon-scan for emerging digital and AI trends within and beyond the Water Health, Laboratories, and infrastructure engineering sectors to inform innovation and service design.
- Governance, risk and resilience lead on risk and assurance. Establish and oversee governance structures for the use of AI and digital tools, ensuring compliance with principles, data protection legislation and Tetra Tech standards. Provide expert advice to the Executive Team on risks and opportunities related to cyber security, digital infrastructure, and the regulatory environment.
- Digital service delivery and operations: Develop and maintain resilient, secure, and scalable digital, data and technology services that support the organisations strategic and operational goals.
- Oversee the availability, security, and performance of core IT systems, ensuring they meet user needs and are accessible to all. Lead delivery of IT services through strategic contract management and supplier performance, including key partners such as Microsoft.
- Collaborate on bid proposals ensuring technical responses are optimised and make recommendations to the bid teams on improvements to proposals and technical deliverables.
- Engagement, development, and management of collaboration arrangements with potential external and internal partners to meet client needs.
- Connecting and engaging with key strategic clients on a regular basis to raise and maintain profile and awareness.
- Responsible for delivering proposal responses, pricing, and presentations as an individual contributor role at client Presentations in respect of software solutions.
- Experience of working at a senior level within a relevant Digital/Technology role and reporting at executive level.
- Successful track record in a senior role in a comparatively complex environment.
- Extensive experience of leading an IT function through change.
- Extensive experience track of successfully leading, developing, and implementing IT strategies and enterprise-wide architecture, with experience at scale in a multi-channel business.
- Substantial experience building large-scale digital, agile, capability, with the ability to define and deliver cultural change, provided by great, highly skilled people.
- Substantial experience of delivering high quality IT services through strategic contract management and getting excellent benefit and continuous improvement from outsourced contracts.
- Track record of taking SaaS models to market.
- Extensive experience of operating credibly in a complex stakeholder environment, with the confidence and assured communications skills to be able to engage and influence senior leaders.
- Expertise presenting technology material and demonstrations of technologies in front of audiences.
- Relevant understanding of how applications create an ecosystem and work together.
- Consulting and software experience preferred.
- This role can be based anywhere in the UK but there is a requirement to travel for up to 20% of the time within the UK and Netherlands.
