Bid Writing & Management
- Lead the end-to-end bid process, from identifying opportunities to submitting final documents.
- Create tailored, high-quality proposals in response to client tenders, pre-qualification questionnaires, and requests for information.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and senior stakeholders to gather technical and operational information.
- Ensure all bids are fully compliant with client requirements, deadlines, and regulatory standards.
- Develop persuasive content that effectively communicates the company’s capabilities, experience, and value proposition.
- Review and refine submissions to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality of language.
- Maintain and support the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring all documentation is current and aligned with industry standards.
- Assist in internal audits, site reviews, and health & safety checks to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with other departments to embed QA practices across the organisation.
- Monitor ongoing project performance and support improvements in quality assurance processes.
- Maintain thorough records of all bid-related and QA documentation.
- Prepare supporting documents such as pre-qualification submissions, reports, and presentations for internal and external use.
- Organise, manage, and archive tender documents, ensuring accessibility and traceability.
- Engage with public and private sector clients to gather feedback, promote our services, and enhance the competitiveness of future submissions.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in bid writing or tender management, preferably within construction, civil engineering, or plant hire.
- In-depth knowledge of bid and tender processes, with a track record of successful submissions.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and industry standards, such as ISO 9001.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop persuasive and well-structured documents.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills - able to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with bid management tools.
- Background in road surfacing, plant hire, or civil engineering.
- Experience engaging with local authorities or private sector clients to refine bids based on feedback.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong interest in the commercial success of each bid.
- Ability to work autonomously in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
