You'll join a multi-skilled team and support machinal fitting activities repairs and inspections on systems and equipment on all Royal Navy and other entitled Vessels.Day-to-day, you'll support in the below:

Completion of all planned preventative maintenance and implicated work to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business.
Identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of Submarines, Surface Vessels and the Estate.
Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.
Work within all Health & Safety legislation, Safe Systems of Work and control of work processes.

Please note that this position involves working in confined spaces. Candidates must be able to work comfortably and perform tasks in restricted spaces. This position also involves working at height. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights.This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Clyde.Essential experience of the Mechanical Fitter

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
Experience working within a high-regulated environment.

Qualifications for the Mechanical Fitter

A recognised Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship to N/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have gained a National Certificate in an engineering discipline.
