PermanentDayshift 37 hours per weekNine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proudly supporting a leading engineering organisation in the search for a Mechanical Fitter/Assembler & Field Service Technician to join their team in Dumbarton, with regular travel to a range of field sites including power stations, refineries, and energy-from-waste plants.This is a hybrid, hands-on role with around 70% workshop assembly and 30% field service work, where you'll be building, maintaining, and commissioning sootblowers and boiler cleaning equipment that are essential to critical industrial operations across the UK (and sometimes internationally!).What You’ll Be Doing:Assembling gearboxes, mechanical sub-assemblies & sootblowersPerforming final testing, inspection, and quality assuranceAttending field sites for equipment maintenance, overhauls & commissioningCarrying out inspections and surveys of mechanical systemsInterpreting engineering drawings and following recognised build proceduresEnsuring high HSE standards, using safe systems of work including lock-out-tag-outSupporting various internal and external projects with a problem-solving mindsetCommunicating with client site teams and supporting strong working relationshipsWhat We’re Looking For:Recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualificationStrong understanding of mechanical fitting practices in a workshop and/or field environmentConfident reading and interpreting engineering drawingsPrevious experience in manufacturing, assembly, or industrial maintenanceFlexible and able to travel across the UK and occasionally internationallyStrong commitment to HSE, with a proactive, practical approach to safetyExcellent communicator with the ability to work independently and within teamsExperience required:Full UK driving licence (essential)Valid UK passport (for occasional international work)Safety passport (training will be provided)What’s On Offer:Permanent opportunity within a reputable businessVaried and dynamic hybrid role across workshop and field sitesOngoing training and developmentOpportunity to work on large-scale industrial equipment and high-profile energy sitesSupportive, safety-first team cultureContact:Caroline Strachancstrachan@weareninetwenty.com07825 450 978
