This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and optimal performance of HV and MV electrical networks through accurate coordination, settings definition, and validation.
You’ll play a key role in supporting project execution and working closely with the protection team during engineering, testing, and commissioning phases.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Protection Settings & Coordination: Perform detailed protection settings calculations (e.g., distance, differential, overcurrent, earth fault) and ensure coordination across devices and system levels.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain settings files, protection study reports, and engineering documentation in compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
- System Study Interpretation: Analyse short circuit, load flow, and arc flash study results to determine appropriate protection thresholds and coordination requirements.
- Customer and Project Management: Participate in project risk reviews, manage project budgets in term of man-days allocated to the setting tasks, and provide regular progress updates.
- Project Support: Collaborate with system study engineers, design teams, and project managers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of protection settings. Support customer interactions as needed.
- Standardisation & Quality: Contribute to the development of standard templates, calculation tools, and design best practices to improve quality and consistency across projects.
- Educational Background: BSc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Over five years of experience in protection engineering, with a strong emphasis on protection settings calculations and coordination studies.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in protection principles and relay configuration; experience with protection study software such as ETAP.
- Design Expertise: Capable of designing protection schemes and performing network studies.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with international standards and national grid policies.
- Documentation & Communication: Strong ability to create technical documentation and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of protection and automation systems, including relay design for LV, MV, and HV applications.
- Experience with GE protection relays and Grid Automation solutions.
- Significant analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

- Advanced verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across departments.
