Our friendly and patient centred team is seeking to recruit a receptionist to join a well established team.The successful candidate will be well organised, flexible and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.If you have a team focused approach and are keen to work in our Practice which is a very much part of the local community we would like to hear from you.Main duties of the jobYou will work as part of a busy reception team looking after the needs and requests of our patients. This will include booking appointments, dealing with prescriptions and queries and acting as liaison between the patient and the doctors, helping to offer an efficient and pleasant service to our patients.About usBrook Lane Surgery has 3 Clinical Partners, eight salaried GPs, complemented by our nursing, admin, reception and management teams.   • To make appointments for patients in person or on the telephone.
  • To receive and direct patients as required.
  • To handle enquiries from patients including registration requests, home visits, Informing patients of results and pass messages to the doctors and other members of the health care team as required.
  • General signposting.
  • Processing prescriptions.
  • To ensure the reception area and waiting room are clear and tidy after surgeries.
  • Maintaining notice boards and patient information displays ensuring they remain relevant and up to date throughout reception and the waiting areas.

TRAINING:To undertake training courses as required and a willingness to undertake this sometimes outside working hours.CONFIDENTIALITY:To understand that all information concerning patients and the practice is confidential and must not be discussed outside the practice.Notes:The practice has a NO SMOKING policy and smoking is not permitted on the practice premises or while on duty.Relief duties must be undertaken during holiday and sick leave.The surgery is open from 8.00am until 6.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 8.00am until 7.30pm Monday and Thursday so a degree of flexibility is required with the possibility of an increase in hours in the future and weekend sessions.It is the Surgerys policy that all staff must attend mandatory training when required.
