- To assist other trades as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- To use all relevant tools and equipment. Understanding how to manipulate fine tools and equipment.
- To maintain the workshops, stores, switch-rooms, boiler-house and plant-rooms and the surrounding areas clean and tidy as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Compliance with all statutory regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- To be able to work overtime at short notice if available to do so, depending on the needs of the Trust.

- Assist higher skill grades on new work and repairs.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of workshop safety practices.
- Undertake statutory planned, reactive maintenance tasks and Inspections.
- To undertake training as necessary to ensure that the knowledge and skills base is maintained and developed to meet the requirements of current and future services and changes in legislation.
- To work and operate using the trust CAFM system and associated communication devices to ensure the work is actioned and resolved in a smart and efficient manner, using the system to record time taken, materials used, inspection results and defect reporting.
- Assist higher skill grades on new work and repairs.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of workshop safety practices.

- To undertake training as necessary to ensure that the knowledge and skills base is maintained and developed to meet the requirements of current and future services and changes in legislation.

- Level 3 Vocational Qualification or equivalent experience
- Good Standard of General Education
- Ability to undertake training when necessary and learn new techniques
- Qualification in a Building Construction or Engineering related subject
- Must be able to demonstrate behaviors consistent with Trusts Values And Behaviours
- Basic Understanding of Construction, building engineering techniques
- Good Understanding of tools and equipment used in maintenance activities
- Experience of working within a similar environment
- Experience of working in an acute or non-acute hospital environment
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety
- Good organisational skills and ability to address and develop solutions to problems of a highly complex and contentious nature
- Good communication skills for effective working relationships throughout the organisation
