Senior Sous chefA Senior Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while managing food provisions, assisting with guest queries, and controlling costs.About the roleWhat will I be doing?Manage all aspects of the kitchen including operational, quality and administrative functionsManage the provision of food to Food and Beverage outlets and taking action where necessary to ensure compliance with current legislationManaging the kitchen staff, including setting the rota, and handling disciplinary and HR issues in the absence of the head chef.Leading a team of chefs in cooking and preparing meals, including checking food quality and overseeing cooking techniques.Training junior chefs. and onboarding new employees.Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient mannerManage customer relations when necessary, in the absence of the Executive ChefEnsure resources support the business needs through the effective management of working rotationsCompleting food hygiene documents to comply with the law and writing environmental health reports when necessary.Establishing strong relationships with staff in other areas of the business, including managers and front of house teams.Deputising for the head chef in their absence.Ordering supplies and negotiating with suppliers.Managing inventory and keeping control of stock.Any other reasonable management requestWhat are we looking for?At least two years experience as a sous chef in a busy kitchen environmentExcellent planning and organizing skillsAbility multi-task and meet deadlinesStrong supervisory skillsGood communication skillsAbility to work under pressurePrevious kitchen experience in similar rolePassion for producing high quality foodKnowledge of current food trendsFood safety qualificationMust be available to work evenings and weekendsWe offer you:Competitive salaryFree meals on dutyFree on site parkingTeam member travel program: discounted hotel nights plus 50%of food and beverage(subject to individual outlets)28 days holiday(including bank holidays)flexible working patternsLoughview leisure group ltd is an equal opportunities employerAbout the companyA Tapestry of Exquisite StaysRequired Criteria

  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • up to date level 2 food safety qualification
  • 2 years experience as a sous chef in a busy kitchen
