Contract Type: Fixed Term/Secondment until 31/03/2027 due to specific funding.

You may also be required to build business cases to seek funding for newly identified opportunities and scope projects. Projects will need to comply with relevant strategies, subsidy and procurement regulations. You’ll analyse and present project management information and ensure that payment to contractors is on evidence-based milestones. Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies in a Digital Infrastructure environment and associated key technologies is a central requirement for this role.You will liaise with Local Members, MPs, central government departments, community champions, businesses and residents. You will develop relationships with commercial telecommunications suppliers and their supply chain to accelerate investment in gigabit-capable broadband and advanced wireless (mobile) services in the county. You will be able to relay complex information and technical theories and create policies and processes that deliver the countywide Digital Infrastructure Strategy, achieving the collective Councils’ intended digital ambitions. You will be comfortable working in a changing political environment as local government moves into Devolution and Reorganisation and will build strong, resilient stakeholder relationships.About youTo be successful in the role you will need to:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification and/or experience in Project Management to successfully lead and manage projects and specifically in the Digital Infrastructure environment.
  • Advanced analytical and IT skills enabling you to interpret and analyse data and information to be able to assess and develop plans and business cases.
  • Highly organised to be able to plan and deliver projects, according to the customer needs and within the desired timeframes agreed ensuring deadlines are met and objectives achieved.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to enable you to successfully liaise with a wide range of stakeholders but also be able to persuade and influence senior stakeholders, particularly in situations where the decision could have a significant impact on project delivery.
  • Be a strong problem solver, anticipate potential issues before they arise and resolve any that do independently.
  • Be able to deliver digital infrastructure projects in a political environment, particularly when working with Senior Members/Senior Management.
  • Financial management experience to enable successful delivery of a project and being accountable for those large budgets.
  • Strong customer focus to deliver a professional, excellent service to the customer ensuring their needs are met.
