
Advanced Practitioner - Sonographer (Head and Neck)

- To be an expert practitioner in head and neck ultrasound and to perform biopsies as required.
- To assess complex clinical information to ensure that the imaging that is performed contributes significantly to a diagnosis for the patient.
- Provide professional advice to other professionals, multidisciplinary groups, patients and carers.
- To participate in the training of Radiology Registrars, Sonographers, Student Sonographers and Radiography students.
- Contribute to the operational and strategic development of ultrasound services
- Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
- Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
- Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
- 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
- Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
- Full Masters level qualification (or equivalent) encompassing all pillars of Advanced Practice and relevant to the area of advanced practice.
- HCPC registered Radiographer/Sonographer
- Advanced clinical skills and experience relevant to imaging specialism.
- Evidence of maintaining a Continuous Professional Development portfolio.
- Leadership and Management qualification
- Significant post registration clinical experience within speciality area
- Experience with staff management and supporting professional development.
- Experience of supporting teaching and education.
- Supporting, engaging with and / or experience of undertaking research.
- Ability to work flexibly and travel between organisation sites in a timely manner
- Full Masters level qualification (or equivalent) encompassing all pillars of Advanced Practice and relevant to the area of advanced practice.
