
Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer

- Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory test programs.
- Evaluate subsurface conditions to determine geotechnical engineering properties of soil and bedrock.
- Perform geotechnical analyses for shallow foundations including bearing capacity, sliding and settlement.
- Conduct seepage and stability analyses for dams, levees, tunnels and natural and man-made slopes.
- Design deep foundations for buildings, bridges, tanks, and other major structures.
- Assist in the preparation of geotechnical data reports, geotechnical design reports, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
- Experience with Plaxis, Slope/W, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in the Water/Wastewater/Transportation Industry.
- Relevant intern and/or professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.
- Ability to work with a diverse team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture.
- Experienced, self-directed professional.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.

- This position requires a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate must be available to work in Chelmsford, MA and/or Providence, Rhode Island on a scheduled basis.
