Job Title: Brake Bay Engineer (Entry Level)Salary: £27,000 per annumLocation: Southend on SeaAeropeople are currently recruiting for a Brake Bay Engineer (entry level) on behalf of our client based in Southend on Sea.Established 20 years ago they are an approved aircraft repair station specialising in aviation wheel and brake services. Their Part 145 EASA/ FAA and TCCA approved workshop offers the space to carry out full testing, inspection, repair and overhaul of the majority of regional, commercial, military and corporate aircraft wheels, brakes, landing gear, freight locking system components, hydraulics, actuators, valves and accumulators. They also have their own Non- Destructive Testing department on site. With their parent company based in the USA, their customers span the UK to Europe, USA, Canada, Middle and Far East.Reporting to the Brake Bay Supervisor, the Brake Bay Engineer (Level 1) will support the company’s repair activities across the business. This is an entry level role which will include one on one training under the guidance of a qualified trainer for a duration of 3- 6 weeks. The successful candidate will undergo a 3 month probationary period followed by an additional 9 months of experience in which to demonstrate consistent progress and capability, at which point they will be eligible for promotion to Level 2. Any candidate who exceeds performance expectations may be considered for an earlier promotion.Main Responsibilities:
  • To support the company’s repair activities across the business.
  • Repairing and overhauling aircraft wheels and brakes to be released into service
  • All parts will be identified and controlled by querying the work orders and various computer systems at your disposal to determine work scope.

About You:
  • NVQ Level 1, Vocational Qualification Level 1, GCSE grade D-G, ESOL skills for life, Functional Skills Level 1 English Math & ICT.
  • Proficient in math, reading and writing (English), with the ability to understand work instructions, maintenance manuals, and customer specifications.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of tools and equipment.
  • A positive and professional attitude.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions and assist in routine maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols.
  • Can handle simple tasks like visual inspections or basic repairs.
