Due to staff change, we have a Receptionist vacancy based at our Adelaide Street site. This post is for 27 hours per week. Flexibility to work overtime e.g. to cover for colleagues on annual leave is essential. This role is on a fixed rota.OPEN TO NEW APPLICANTS ONLY.Our Reception team provides an efficient and effective receptionist service to staff and patients.Working with a great team, you need to be flexible, approachable and tolerant to the challenges of working with a complex patient population in inner city Plymouth. No day is ever the same, here we can and do make a difference but its not always easy!We love cake and a good social event.Main duties of the jobThe purpose of the role is to:
  • Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
  • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated health, social and voluntary agencies
