Job Description:What you’ll do as a Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Team Leader:You will join the team to develop, improve and support the operations manufacturing processes and equipment enabling world class production of Leonardo productsEnsuring the development manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; understanding feedback from Leonardo operators, conferring with equipment vendors or external suppliersLead and deliver OEE – Overall Operational Equipment Effectiveness, ensure that a OEE approach is in place and that the equipment team are effectively participating in the uptime / utilization data analysisAdvising and participating on improving policies and processes within the operations frameworkResponsible for ensuring the team deliver technically sound solutions meeting all stakeholder requirementsAssure product and process quality by designing methods; validation/verification of process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processesLead failure investigations using known problem-solving techniques (e.g. 8D)Assure maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment, ensure that internal Leonardo calibration and external calibration plans are in place, effective and that TPM is to scheduleEnsure that the equipment team have effective documentation set in place including working with Manufacturing on the creation & maintenance of General Risk Assessments and that the maintenance schedule and process checklist are in place and effective (includes Maintain manufacturing equipment critical spares and proactive review /oversight of obsolescence)Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements by overseeing and reviewing all contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring safe working practices are maintained throughout contractor lead activities.Facility Design (Equipment): Ensure layouts from high level to detailed cell designs are adequate including storage for jigs & fixtures; that the design, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing EPA / ESD arrangements are planned and effective; and the implementation of equipment 5S is planned and effectiveComplete improvement and development projects by coaching and mentoring the manufacturing equipment engineer communityWhat we need from you:In depth understanding of manufacturing processes and principlesPeople management & leadership skills; including effective performance, change management skills and development of self and othersExperience in managing a multi disciplined manufacturing equipment engineering team having ability to take ownership of a work package; planning and scheduling own workload and the work of othersExperience of peer reviewing the work of others inside a product team and within a sub Engineering Unit and ensuring the resulting actions are implementedHND (or higher) in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience in role.Demonstrated achievement and delivery of own work packages within a single engineering disciplineDemonstrated experience in having own work peer reviewed and implementing resulting actionsDemonstrated knowledge of more than one phase of the Product Life Cycle and the associated discipline processesThis is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above.
