- Operational experience in IP/MPLS/Ethernet/SDH networks ideally in a Utilities environment.
- Ability to manage all of resources required to run best in class network & telemetry operations.
- Ensure that outsourced services and partners effectively deliver to very high standards.
- Experience of managing outsourced services in an ITIL environment is required, effectively, setting direction, control and standards, ideally in operational network environments.
- Strong knowledge of appropriate technology and systems that make up the network, telemetry and SCADA infrastructure would be an advantage.
- Use of network monitoring tools and fault finding in these networks Understand and interpret both security and external regulations that impact upon the operation and effective running of operational networks.
- Act as a focal point for business service liaison (including projects and service transition)
- Manage all of the resources including third party service providers in the provision of operational management and control of CNI SCADA and CNI networks, ensuring that they are fully resilient, safe and secure.
- Work with IS, the business and all third party stakeholders to ensure that any changes to the networks and associated hardware are not going to affect the safe operational control of the networks.
- Work with Audit, Security and any other outside Government organisations to ensure that the support operations are compliant with policies and standards expected of critical CNI networks.
- Participation in the management of incidents on CNI networks ensuring that resilience is brought back into operations a quickly as possible.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations to ensure that learning is fed back to prevent reoccurrence.
