Product Manager (Power System)Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires Product Manager to be based at their client’s office in Warwick, UK.This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Warwick office 3 days per weekThis is a 6+ month temporary contract (rolling contract) to start asapDay rate: Competitive Market rateThe purpose of the job is to drive digital innovation and advanced power system capabilities to enable Net Zero.The client is seeking a dynamic and passionate Product Manager to lead the development of digital products with a strong focus on power system analysis, modelling, and optimisation. You will oversee solutions that integrate power systems engineering with cutting-edge digital technologies to optimise energy generation, transmission, and distribution. This role blends digital product management with technical expertise in power system modelling, enabling delivery of products that enhance network stability, improve planning accuracy, and support renewable integration.The right candidate is an experienced Product Owner/ Manager that has worked with Electrical Engineers/ Power System Engineers and or with power visualisation and power modelling tools such as Power Factory, PSCAD, PandaPower, MatPower Plexos MATLAB, NEPLAN, Vision Network Analysis, ETAP, ABB AdviseIT GridView, PSAT, MiPower etc. You must have knowledge on Power System (like PSCAD, Power Factory, Matlab etc.)Key Responsibilities:Digital Product Management
  • Define and communicate the vision for your product’s digital roadmap
  • Lead scoping, requirements definition, and prioritisation for features and enhancements
  • Drive adoption of products in line with the organisation’s strategic direction
  • Research and apply emerging digital technologies to power systems challenges
  • Manage cross-functional agile delivery teams through the entire product lifecycle
Power System & Power Modelling
  • Collaborate with system planning and engineering teams to capture requirements for network analysis, load forecasting, and stability assessments
  • Specify and oversee development of tools and models for:
-Load flow and fault level analysis-Dynamic and transient stability simulations-Optimal power flow studies-Renewable generation and distributed energy integration
  • Validate and improve model accuracy through real-world data and simulations
  • Ensure interoperability with industry-standard platforms (e.g., PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD)
  • Translate complex modelling outputs into clear insights for stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Support regulatory and compliance requirements through robust modelling and reporting capabilities
Key Requirements:
  • Significant experience in product management within a digital and/or energy sector context
  • Must have knowledge on Power System (like PSCAD, Power Factory, Matlab etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of power system principles, modelling techniques, and grid operation challenges
  • Proficiency with power system analysis tools (e.g., PSS®E, PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP)
  • Understanding of market trends in smart grids, energy storage, and renewable integration
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical information for non-technical audiences
  • Agile delivery methodology experience (Scrum, SAFe)
