Salary: Full time starting salary is normally in the range £36,130 to £45,413 with potential progression once in post to £48,149Hours: Part Time (30 hours per week)Contract Type: Fixed Term contract up to July 2027BackgroundTo support the advancement of NIHR funded research project through data collection and analysis, contributing to knowledge generation, and to provide research assistance to projects and research teams in collaboration with the wider research team as well as the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society. This project will work closely with people from South Asian backgrounds i.e. Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu speaking.Role Summary
  • Work within specified research grants and projects and contribute to writing papers and final reports
  • Operate within area of specialism (Rheumatology)
  • Collect data at a clinical level across NHS settings within West Midlands
  • With the help of a statistician, analyse and interpret research findings, results and dissemination not just within academy but also within the public and patient community
Person Specification
  • Degree or equivalent in relevant subject area
  • Practical experience of applying the relevant skills and techniques
  • Ability to analyse information and communicate effectively
  • Ability to access and organise resources successfully
  • Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010, and how to actively ensure in day to day activity in own area that those with protected characteristics are treated equally and fairly
  • Experience of working in hospitals
  • Ability to speak languages such as Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu since the project will involve working with South Asian people
  • Ability to assess resource requirements and use resources effectively
  • Contribute to the planning and organising of the research programme and/or research project
  • Co-ordinate own work with others to avoid conflict or duplication of effort
