Daycare Surgical or Diagnostic procedures (Nightingale) and Same Day Admission for Inpatients (Woodpecker).Are you a experienced nurse with excellent clinical skills and experience in leading and managing a ward area? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a strong and dynamic nurse to take on the roleof Ward Manager/Team Leader on Nightingale/Woodpecker.Nightingale Ward has 19 daycase beds and Woodpecker has 13 same day admission pre-operative beds. Both sit within the Core Clinical Services Drectorate. Specialising in ENT, Specialist Neonatal andPaediatric Surgery (SNAPS), Urology, Ophthalmology, Dental and MaxilloFacial, Dermatology,Neurology and multiple other specialities, Nightingale /Woodpecker ward offers a unique opportunityto gain experience in a wide range of different specialities.The successful applicant will become part of a friendly team of experienced nurses, ODP's and Healthcare Assistants, supported by ACP's and CNS's. The unit is open Monday to Friday with occasional opening on SaturdayMain duties of the jobThe post holder will be a key member of the directorate senior nursing team and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality care across Woodpecker/Nightingale. You will work closely with the Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP's), other Ward Managers and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS's) to take part in service development and quality improvement.The successful candidate should have:
  • Demonstrable excellent communication skills
  • Experience in managing clinical incidents and complaints
  • The ability to prioritise clinical and management demands
  • Have a passion for learning new skills and taking on daily challenges
  • The ability to lead and manage a diverse team of nurses/ODP's/HCA's.
