- Relevant First Degree in health care related subject or working towards
- Evidence of ongoing dynamic professional development within the speciality
- Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience
- Leadership or management experience
- Relevant Modules/Evidence of ongoing Education eg, Care of the Surgical Child
- Attendance on a Management Programme
- Attendance on a Clinical Leadership Programme
- Demonstrable experience of taking charge of a ward/ department and deputising for the ward manager
- Experience of having worked in children's day surgery or post operative management of a surgical child
- Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing
- Understanding of Diversity and Inclusion challenges in the workplace.
- Understanding of the importance of research and evidence-based practice
- Experience of leading and managing a team of nurses
- Experience of change management and problem solving
- Evidence of fulfilling requirements for Revalidation
- Understanding of safeguarding issues according to Trust policies and procedures
- Understanding of principles of clinical governance (e.g. risk management, audit, quality, health and safety)
- Experience handling clinical incidents and complaints and reporting
- Understanding of nursing practice and innovation outside of GOSH
- Understanding of resource management.
