We are looking for a motivated Dietitian at Band 6, with experience of paediatrics to provide maternity cover 3 days per week for 10-12 months in the paediatric team within Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust which comprises of 5 other Paediatric Dietitians and strong administrative support. We are a very supportive team, haveregular team meetings and CPD sessions/opportunities and have good links with surrounding Trusts and paediatric teams.This is an excellent opportunity to consolidate paediatric skills, work with MDT colleagues in a variety of settings and develop clinical and leadership skills. The post holder will cover paediatric out-patient clinics, our paediatric in-patient ward and our neonatal unit, with the opportunity to further develop clinical and leadership skillsWe are an integrated acute and community Dietetics Service, covering Buckinghamshire. Our teams are friendly, supportive and place staff well being and professional development as a high priority. We have B and C placement students with opportunities for our staff to lead or support students on placement, as well as great CPD and training opportunities for all our staffMain duties of the jobTo be an autonomous practitioner and act as a source of clinical expertise in the areas of paediatric and neonatal care.
  • To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality, evidence based dietetic service to a complex case load of patients on the paediatrics and neonatal unit
To provide specialised assessment, treatment and support of paediatric inpatients and outpatients, and provide cover for other specialist dietitians on an occasional basis
  • As one of the paediatric Dietitians, working closely with the Paediatric Dietetic Team Lead and Nutrition and Dietetic Service Manager to plan, provide and evaluate the paediatric dietetic service.
  • To support the clinical and professional development of junior Dietitians, Dietetic support worker and student dietitians.
  • To work as part of the paediatric multidisciplinary team training other healthcare professionals and contributing to the development of the service
