- Proven experience in managing frontline teams delivering street cleansing and/or waste management services, with the ability to plan and deploy resources effectively to achieve best value.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including performance management, recruitment, and fostering a positive team culture across diverse teams.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to respond to enquiries from residents, colleagues, and Councillors, and represent the service at community and multi-agency meetings.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices, with experience in conducting risk assessments, developing safe systems of work, and promoting a culture of compliance.
- Ability to support and promote national recycling campaigns, ensuring local engagement aligns with central government targets for recycling and carbon neutrality.
