
Service Manager - Parking

- This role provides the opportunity for hybrid working, allowing you to work either from home, subject to managerial approval, or from County Hall, Taunton.
- 30 days' annual leave (in addition to bank holidays).
- The contract offered is permanent and full-time (37 hours per week), with occasional requirements for evening/weekend work to meet project deadlines.
- The development of new parking solutions, balancing legal obligations, community expectations, safety requirements and commercial viability.
- Developing policy and solutions that involve influencing a range of internal and external parties to change current approaches and agree new courses of action.
- Overseeing all parking related enquiries from the public, members and stakeholders etc, ensuring the Councils response is realistic, appropriate and meets agreed objectives - protecting the councils reputation.
- Ensuring the Parking Services work in partnership and integrates with other Council services, such as the community, wider Traffic Management and highways and planning teams.
- A degree in a related field such as public administration, law enforcement, or transport management, or equivalent extensive experience.
- Strong leadership skills with a positive, committed and adaptable approach.
- Significant operational and managerial experience of the delivery of local authority parking services.
- Experience of designing and implementing service transformation processes to deliver service change and improvement.
- Sound analysis and decision-making in dealing with complex service delivery and/or policy development matters.
