- Support the tactical delivery of FirstPort's building performance strategy.
- Monitor building systems (BMS, HVAC, Fire) to identify deviations from design and propose mitigation strategies.
- Act as a super user of our smart analytics platform-monitor alerts, triage issues, and help shape system functionality.
- Conduct deep-dive audits on critical systems to identify optimisation opportunities.
- Ensure thermal comfort standards are achieved and identify design-performance gaps.
- Act as gatekeeper of Design for Operations (DESOPS) standards and maintain the change control process.
- Support non-technical operational teams in evaluating third-party recommendations.
- Deliver site-based building performance training and raise awareness of benchmarking tools.
- Champion smart buildings, energy innovation and sustainable infrastructure initiatives.
- Monitor energy consumption data, assess quality, and drive remedial actions.
- Act as a sustainability framework champion within the engineering domain.
- Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Procurement, and Legal to support end-to-end building performance outcomes.
- Any other duties required by your Line Manager.
- A degree in Building Services, Energy, or Sustainability Engineering from a UK-recognised institution.
- verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear engineering reports and analysis.
- Foundational understanding of Net Zero Carbon principles and energy management systems.
- A growth mindset with a desire to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
- Sound technical knowledge in HVAC, BMS and Fire Safety systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- At least one year's placement or experience in an engineering/building management environment.
- Knowledge of IoT systems, smart platforms and remote diagnostics.
- Experience with health and safety protocols in the built environment.
- Understanding of reliability engineering tools such as FMEA or RBD.
