Job DescriptionAs a result of our clients expansion plans, and continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Finance Assistant to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.About the Role:This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to develop their career within a dynamic and fast-paced finance department. Initially focusing on Purchase Ledger, the role will quickly diversify to support a variety of finance projects and provide assistance across different teams as needed.Responsibilities:
Accurately process high volumes of purchase ledger invoices and credit notes
Ensure timely and correct matching of invoices to purchase orders and goods received
Assist with creditor reconciliations, resolving queries and liaising with suppliers
Manage data capture and processing to maintain accurate financial records
Support month-end processes including prepayments, accruals, and journal entries
Assist with cash and cost control (CC) processes
Analysing month end actuals vs budgets figures
Take part in finance project work as required across the department
Provide ad hoc support to other teams within Finance when needed
Person Specification:
Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role, with strong Purchase Ledger expertise
Ability and skill set to adapt to various other transactional processing roles within a fast-paced finance department
Solid understanding of accounting processes including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial processing
Good working knowledge of MS Excel and financial systems
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team
A proactive and adaptable attitude, with a willingness to support various finance functions
Ideally AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT
