Over the years, we have successfully delivered numerous projects across Ireland, the UK, Central Europe, and the USA for our clients in the municipal and industrial sectors.The Role:As Civil Project Manager for the Final Effluent Pumping Station, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to bring water and wastewater infrastructure projects from design through to procurement, construction, commissioning and handover to the client. Leading the Civil Engineering scope of works on this element of this major project, you will be involved in all day-to-day aspects of delivery including programme management, commercial management and HSQE development and awareness.You will lead in a one-team culture while actively contributing to your own skills and experience. Your role will be key in supporting the Operations Manager to achieve the outcomes of the project. Due to the nature of the works completed by Glanua you will have an opportunity to witness a wide variety of multi-disciplinary engineering activities and will have the opportunity to focus and develop, a specialised knowledge base and progress your career, with a wide variety of career paths available.Main Duties and Responsibilities:The main duties and responsibilities of the Civil Project Manager are outlined as follows:
  • Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
  • Instil a positive Health and Safety culture within the team in their thinking and actions.
  • Work closely and collaborate with all key stakeholders including clients, client representatives and third-party agencies.
  • Ensure a positive experience for the client and their representatives instilling an ethos of collaboration and cooperation.
  • Lead the construction team in all aspects of the Civil Engineering and Building scope of works.
  • Liaise closely and support other engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical and process engineering.
  • Facilitate the co-ordination role of the Principal Designer for live projects with internal and external designers. Represent the company as Principal Contractor on live sites within your remit and co-ordinate all required documentation to be present on-site and up to date.
  • Conduct regular Health, Safety & Environmental assurance activities inspections on live sites as well as conducting and leading toolbox talks and white-board meetings.
  • Ensure best practice project management techniques are used such as Lean Construction and Last Planner.
  • Monitor project performance including risk and opportunities. Mitigate/reduce risk where possible and manage opportunities.
  • Report on the monthly performance of your project to the Operations Manager including performance against programme, budget and HSQE.
  • Lead the team in the procurement of supplies and sub-contracts on time and within budget.
  • Manage cashflow on projects and work with the Operations Manager and commercial team to ensure interim payment applications are submitted on-time to the client.
  • Build and promote industry-leading teams by providing training and mentoring of staff including setting out development plans for your team.
  • Provide an active involvement in resource management and recruitment within your team as a hiring manager.
  • Provide assistance, oversight and guidance from time to time on tendering opportunities for new upcoming projects.
  • Respond to and address any client and stakeholder complaints in a timely manner.
  • Seek to improve the project delivery process by providing lessons learned feedback and innovative solutions for adoption on future projects.
  • Keep appraised of the latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Other duties as required from time to time.
Specific Objectives Relating to the Role:Specific Objectives of the FEPS Civil Project Manager include:
  • Ensure a positive H&S Culture on-site and that H&S standards are maintained at all times with a high emphasis on maintaining standards and achieving zero lost time.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to build a strong design & build civil/building delivery team as the programme ramps up. Hire and onboard any new hire requirements that have been identified.
  • Support a multi-site mobile programme delivery team to move from project to project providing outline design, SI works and pricing (RFP Process), detailed design and project delivery.
  • Build teams that know and understand the way Glanua delivers projects and that can work autonomously and competently in their roles to deliver projects once your term in the UK has come to an end.
  • Collaborate with MEICA team to ensure a seamless flow from civil/building works into MEICA and Commissioning activities.
  • Ensure quality checks are completed and a robust ITP/ITR process is developed.
