The Design Engineer specializing in Electrical Offshore under the guidance of Principal Engineers is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems for offshore platforms (AC/DC), ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards along with . The role involves working on a variety of large and dynamic projects, collaborating closely with multi-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.You will engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide updates on project progress, ensuring that the solutions delivered meet customer specifications and industry standards.A continual improvement focus must be established to achieve this by taking a broad approach towards electrical system design and optimization throughout all projects & tenders. As the Design Engineer, you will offer experienced advice to all collaborators, making critical adjustments to achieve project objectives or optimally lead changes identified through assessments and technical reviews. Your proactive problem-solving skills and technical expertise will be key to driving the success of our offshore platform projects.How You'll Make an Impact· Passion for Renewables. You are inspired by new ideas, technical and also non-technical.· Passion for Engineering - background in any engineering field, ability to grasp engineering concepts, ask searching, detailed questions and through that form a good understanding of a technical problem.· Communication - able to articulate ideas clearly, convince and influence by listening and asking, then responding accordingly.· Develop - want to develop as a person in leading, communicating and influencing, contract management and terminology, technical breadth and deliver large offshore substation projects.On day-to-day basis you will work on· Create and develop electrical design solutions for offshore platforms, including power distribution, lighting, emergency and communication systems.· Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and schematics for electrical installations, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.· Coordinate projects from initial assessment to completion, including tenders/FEED and EPCI scope.· Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely achievement of project goals and adherence to quality standards.· Provide technical guidance and support to sub-contractors throughout the design process.· Review and approve user documentation, including reports, calculations, and drawings.· Work closely with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, structural, others) to achieve integrated and efficient designs.· Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure alignment with project requirements and expectations.· Ensure all electrical designs meet regulatory requirements and standard methodologies.· Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and standard methodologies in electrical services and offshore engineering.· Contribute to the development and enhancement of design methodologies and toolsWhat You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or HNC/HND.
  • A couple of years of experience in electrical design engineering, specifically within the Low voltage/Auxiliaries, onshore or offshore (any) industries.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards (e.g., IEC, BS).
  • Proficiency in design software and other engineering tools Autocad, Ms Office etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
