Students benefit from small class sizes, collaborative planning between teachers and therapists, and a variety of enrichment activities designed to build confidence, independence, and personal growth.About the Role:As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils with their learning needs. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help create an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils needing additional help.
- Assist with preparing classroom resources and lesson materials.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
- Monitor pupil progress and report observations to teaching staff.
- Supervise pupils during breaks or lunchtimes when required.
- Support extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Foster independence and confidence in learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to meet pupil needs.
- Experience working in a UK school or similar setting.
- A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent (desirable).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
