We are on the hunt for a compassionate and experienced Head Nurse to join a thriving independent veterinary practice in Swindon! This practice, established in 1986, is committed to providing top-tier, affordable primary care to its beloved community. ️The practice boasts three independent sites, including a brand-new, gold-standard cat-only clinic at the main location! Their state-of-the-art facilities ensure most cases can be handled in-house, minimizing referrals. You'll be part of a fantastic team of 38 dedicated staff members, with a supportive nursing team of 17. As a teaching practice, they actively encourage growth and offer a nurturing environment.About the Role: Your Impact!This is an exceptional chance for a highly motivated individual to step into a pivotal leadership role within a progressive and open culture. The Head Nurse will be instrumental in:Clinical Management: Developing cutting-edge clinical protocols and collaborating with senior vets to uphold the highest clinical standards.Staff Leadership: Inducting, supervising, and empowering all clinical staff across the three sites.HR and Resource Management: Overseeing inductions, appraisals, performance reviews, recruitment, and efficient rota planning.Practice Management: Working hand-in-hand with the Clinical and Practice Managers on all facets of clinic operations.RCVS Standards: Ensuring meticulous adherence to all RCVS standard requirements.The Ideal Candidate: Who We're Looking For!We value the quality of your experience above all else!Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, with a proven ability to manage a larger team.Qualifications: A Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), preferably with RLA or RPA qualifications. You must be an experienced Clinical Coach! Further qualifications in leadership and management are highly desirable.Skills: Exceptional consulting and client care skills, coupled with a natural talent for coaching and mentoring other veterinary team members. ️Personal Qualities: We're seeking an organized, efficient, and deeply compassionate individual who is passionate about their work and animal welfare. The ideal candidate will be a motivational team player who thrives in an open culture and is dedicated to continuous improvement.The Details: What We Offer!Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a 4-day work week (8:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.) plus one in five Saturdays (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.). There's also an additional 1 in 5 on-call rota for hospitalised patient care.
