Up to £125 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)Long Term Futures are working with a well-established and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets to appoint a dedicated Pastoral Mentor to join their team immediately.The school has a strong pastoral and safeguarding infrastructure, with a focus on restorative approaches and early intervention for students who require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will be working closely with students across Key Stage 3 and 4 who may be experiencing SEMH challenges, disengagement, or barriers to learning.This role is ideal for someone passionate about student wellbeing and behaviour support, looking to progress within a pastoral or inclusion-based career.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Support with behaviour across lessons, corridors, and unstructured times during the day
- Assist with reintegration of students following incidents, exclusions or absences
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and emotional wellbeing
- Liaise with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, and families
- Contribute to planning and delivery of pastoral interventions and wellbeing programmes
- Experience supporting young people in a pastoral, mentoring or behavioural role
- A calm, confident and consistent approach to behaviour support
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust with students and families
- An understanding of trauma-informed and restorative practices
- A background in secondary schools, PRU, SEMH or youth work is highly desirable
- Easily accessible via Whitechapel, Stepney Green and Bethnal Green stations
- Local bus routes include: 25, D3, 205, 309, 106
