A well-regarded secondary school in Willerby, Hull, is seeking a dedicated Design Technology Technician to join their team this September. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in preparing, maintaining, and supporting engaging lessons in the Design Technology department.Your Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for lessons in areas such as resistant materials, product design, engineering, or graphics
- Ensure all equipment and machinery is safe, clean, and ready for use
- Support teachers during practical lessons, providing technical assistance where required
- Help students use tools and equipment safely and confidently
- Monitor and maintain stock levels, ordering materials when necessary
- Uphold health and safety standards within the workshop and classroom environment
- Assist with displays of student work and contribute to creating an inspiring learning space
- Practical experience or qualifications in Design Technology, engineering, or a related technical field
- Good knowledge of workshop tools, machinery, and safety procedures
- A proactive, organised, and flexible approach to supporting lessons
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
- Previous experience in a school or educational environment as a Design Technology Technician (desirable but not essential)
