About The JobWe are looking for a Trainee Maintenance Technician to join our team in Sheffield.Reporting to the Facilities and Logistics Manager, you'll be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of the group offices, workshop spaces, systems, and grounds.You will have the opportunity to ensure that the facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently while supporting the comfort and productivity of colleagues and visitors.Salary: Up to £25,000, depending upon skills and experience.Interested candidates are invited to share their CVs atRequirementsSUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Successfully complete all identified training both in-house, and external.
  • Conduct regular inspections, maintenance and testing of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and fire safety equipment.
  • Perform general repairs such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve building issues, including HVAC malfunctions, plumbing leaks, and electrical faults.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimising downtime.
  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout all facilities, keeping them safe and in good repair, maintaining common areas, and exterior grounds.
  • Assist in setting up and rearranging office spaces, furniture, and equipment as needed.
  • Conduct safety inspections and perform corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Be responsible for the onboarding and general supervision of contractors, ensuring RAMs are in place as required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and systems are functioning efficiently.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working condition and are stored properly.
  • Assist with facility projects, renovations, and installations.
  • Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance facility operations.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and protocols.
  • Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post, including logistics support as required.
Summary Of RequirementsWe are looking for:Experience And Knowledge
  • Basic proficiency with manual handling equipment.
  • A full UK driving licence.
Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to read and understand written English to maintain records.
  • Basic IT and numeracy skills.
