Teacher of Physical Education (PE)Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS; £32,916 - £51,048 per annumGSL Education are looking to appoint ambitious, energetic, and passionate Teacher of Physical Education to work at a Client Secondary School located in York, North Yorkshire.PE Teacher Requirements:
  • A recognised UK teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or equivalent, with a specialism in Physical Education.
  • A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience teaching Physical Education at secondary level.
  • Strong understanding of physical education curriculum requirements, sports coaching techniques, and fitness principles.
  • Experience working in SEN settings or with students who have additional needs is desirable.
  • Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
PE Teacher Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging PE lessons across KS3 to KS5.
  • Plan, assess and report on pupils’ progress.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of the PE curriculum.
  • Maintaining a safe environment during physical activities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive culture of health, wellbeing, and sport throughout the school.
  • Participate in extracurricular sport and physical activity.
