In partnership with a Further Education CollegeTeaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Practitioner to work with students who have physical disabilities and/or medical conditions within a Further Education setting. This important role is delivered in partnership with a well-established college and focuses on ensuring that students receive the personal care, medical support, and encouragement they need to fully participate in college life and achieve their goals.This role involves developing and overseeing care plans, coordinating support teams, and working closely with staff and external professionals to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and coordinate the work of Teaching Assistants who support students with personal care duties, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and on time.Carry out assessments for students with medical and physical needs, creating individual care plans and risk assessments, and reviewing them regularly.Collaborate with healthcare professionals (e.g. physiotherapists, occupational therapists) to ensure smooth transitions into and out of college for students.Offer guidance and training to support staff, ensuring they are equipped to deliver manual handling and other care responsibilities safely.Monitor and assure the quality of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) across the college.Chair annual reviews of students' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within your caseload.Lead and deliver annual training on safe moving and handling procedures.Maintain knowledge and skills in assistive technology and specialist equipment required for student care and independence.Liaise with contractors to manage the maintenance and compliance of equipment in accordance with health and safety legislation (including LOLER).Complete and share risk assessments for students with medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, anaphylaxis, and physical disabilities, ensuring consistent implementation across the college.Deliver o
