About The Procurement TeamThe Procurement Team involves strategically sourcing and managing raw materials, packaging, and other essential components for high-volume production. This includes developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and evaluating the end-to-end procurement process.Effective procurement at THG Labs is crucial for meeting high consumer demand and navigating intense competition while maintaining profitability.This ensures that the organisation can consistently deliver high-quality products to major global brands, meeting their expectations & maintaining a competitive edge in the market.Why be a Buyer at THG Beauty?Reporting to the Buying Manager, the Buyer is responsible for landing key cost incentives regarding packaging requirements for Beauty Brands as well as developing relationships with key suppliers, procuring new suppliers, and ensuring the supplier base remains low risk to the business.As a Buyer, you'll:
  • Create Packaging briefs for new NPD projects, ensuring they are accurate and detailed.
  • Ensure all Packaging briefs have been actioned within the KPI target.
  • Ensure all Packaging briefs meet the strategic parameters set including risk mitigation to supply chain.
  • Ensure all quotations are received from a supplier within the KPI target.
  • Ensure all quotations received are accurate and in target of the budget set.
  • Ensure preferred payment terms are adhered to where applicable.
  • Negotiate preferred inco terms and generate transport costs.
  • Ensure all components sourced meet the requirements of project.
  • Ensure all packing methods have been provided via FPS prior to approval.
  • Provide weekly project update with Lead Buyer, ensuring escalation points to projects are highlighted.
  • Provide weekly project update to Product Teams on any projects which require escalation due to delay in providing completion.
  • Ensure all Samples received are recorded correctly via FPS
  • Request and track samples required for compatibility testing
  • Identify new suppliers and share with the Strategic team for further investigation
  • Ensure all price books are correct and up to date on Sage x 3
  • Aid all members of the department in administrative tasks
  • Take notes in clear and concise manner for internal and external meetings
  • Communicating effectively and positively with all teams, colleagues, and managers.
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety for yourself and other persons who may be affected by your work
  • To cooperate with regards to all company health & safety measures, following H&S training when using equipment
  • Report to a person in authority any work situation which may represent a serious or imminent danger to health & safety or any shortcomings in the protection arrangements to health & safety. In respect of any hazards remember 'see it, report it'
  • Helping to promote a positive working atmosphere within the company.
  • Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
What skills and experience do I need for this role?
  • Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excell, Outlook
  • A team player
  • An interest in Packaging for Beauty Brands
  • Ability to negotiate
