Job Description:Events Security Supervisors - various locations, including: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Leeds, Wigan and LondonPLEASE NOTE; YOU MUST HAVE A VALID DS SIA LICENCE TO APPLY FOR THIS VACANCY£13 - £15 per hour - dependent upon venueDue to continued growth, G4S Events are now looking to recruit experienced SIA (DS) Event Supervisors to join our teams to support a range of events across the sports and music industries, spanning the whole of the UK - so you will have the opportunity to be a part of the events you love.Our Supervisors provide a visible reminder that safety is our number one priority for visitors and staff. Which means you will leading a small team of staff, and could be inside or outside, on your feet showing people where to go, checking tickets at entry, monitoring the crowd and managing the car parking facilities. Wherever you are, you and your team will be the fun, helpful and friendly face representing G4S Events.As Supervisor you will be responsible for securing the venues, staff and visitors for our customers.Duties include:
  • Communicate the event requirements to operatives under their direction via briefings (individual & collective)
  • Brief operatives on what is expected of them and what to expect during the event.
  • Deploy staff accordingly depending on staff numbers and positions.
  • Oversee and assist, in the safe movement of the public throughout all phases of the event.
  • Be in contact with the control room and keep them up to date, take instruction from management via control.
  • Report any incidents to control and complete the necessary report/s at the end of shift, before handing over to your manager.
  • Train and mentor staff under your direction, providing advice and guidance on a number of issues
  • Work in other roles including Security Officer and or Event Steward when required, to support the wider events operation
  • Lead and motivate your team to ensure excellent customer service is delivered every time to all customers.
  • Act as the point of escalation for team members working for you, including the handling of complaints, conflict management, physical intervention and any other matters staff may raise
You will be employed on a casual basis meaning you can work as many events as you like, whether this be in your local area, or across the UK, if you are happy to travel (transportation is provided for qualifying events). Many of our events take place in the evenings and weekends, so you must be available to work during these times.You could become a member of our National Team of Supervisors, helping to delivery safe and memorable events at venues including:
  • Rugby at Murrayfield, Edinburgh
  • Music events in the OVO Hydro, Glasgow
  • Horse racing at Aintree, Haydock and Chester, including The Grand National
  • Football at Manchester City FC and Manchester United FC
  • Cricket matches in Leeds and Manchester
  • Comedy stand up shows at the O2 arena, London
Qualifications:
  • Essential :- DS SIA licence and Supervisory experience
  • Desired :- Level 3 Spectator Safety or willingness to work towards,
