Are you ready to join our team?At our Kilkeel Facility, we manufacture aircraft interior seating for a number of worldwide customers. As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Graduate Design Engineer in our Seating business located in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland.Graduate Design EngineerThe successful candidate will work within a cross functional team to support in the design and manufacture of world class solutions for aircraft seating.To be able to embrace our culture, we are looking for candidates who:

This role offers the potential to build a career, with technical progression paths through senior & principal engineer roles, or alternatively people management progression through team lead & manager roles.The successful candidate can expect to:
  • Collaborate with the Integrated Product Team on the design of new components & assemblies ensuring that the developed solution is optimised for cost, weight, quality & satisfies current manufacture capabilities and practices.
  • Design and create 2D & 3D Parametric Models along with associated drawings & BoMs to meet the design specifications of the product.
  • Solve engineering challenges to closure through the implementation of Engineering Change Notices into production.
  • Set up new components and materials in Teamcenter and support the introduction of new products into the production environment.
  • Support the Production Team with the resolution of engineering related issues.
  • Liaison with other design teams around the world
  • Establish and maintain design best practices
  • Promote and support a safe working environment in line with Company objectives.
  • Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement within the department.
  • Identify and implement Lean initiatives.
  • Any other duties as required to support business needs.
What you need to succeed?Essential Criteria:Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.Desirable criteria:A minimum of 1 years’ relevant engineering experience gained in a design or manufacturing environment.Experience of Design tools & processes.Experience in New Product Development / New Product Introduction.Experience in Engineering Change Management.How to apply:Please note, it is the candidate’s responsibility to clearly outline how they meet the criteria required for this role.Collins Aerospace is an Equal Opportunities employer.Benefits:People are core to what we do.
