Working alongside our partner school in Oldham (OL4), Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Key Stage 2 teaching assistant to work with children in Year 5 and Year 6 starting after the October half term.
  • Full-time position 8:30am – 3:30pm

Working alongside the existing dedicated support staff, the class teachers and KS2 senior leader, the successful candidate will work with a range of pupils across both Year 5 and Year 6 classes supporting learning across the department. The role is suited to an individual who is flexible and adaptable as the role has a great balance between in-class support and support within dedicated intervention rooms.The role of a teaching assistant will focus on providing Maths, Reading, Writing and Science support during the timetabled daily lessons. Planned intervention sessions will take place in the afternoons in which you will support learners to a high standard addressing misconceptions and providing effective feedback to the class teacher. This may include additional handwriting, arithmetic, reading or SPAG support. It is important the candidate is comfortable and familiar with the KS2 curriculum.Ideally, the Headteacher is looking for an enthusiastic practitioner who has experience working within Year 5 or Year 6, however, those educators with experience of the KS2 curriculum would be encouraged to apply. Furthermore, it would be advantageous to have experience of SATs or be willing to provide additional SATs support to targeted children ready for the upcoming statutory assessments.The school serves a diverse population with pupils coming from a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds. They have a higher-than-average population of children who are disadvantaged leading to a high number of children with gaps in their learning. They are a two-form entry school with around 320 pupils on roll and between 25 and 30 pupils in their upper key stage 2 classes.
