We are seeking a proactive, highly organised, and people-focused individual to join our ResLife team as Private Accommodation Support Advisor. This vital role supports students transitioning to, and living in, private sector accommodation while fostering positive relationships between the University, landlords, and the wider Bath community.You’ll be at the forefront of our private housing support service, offering expert advice to resident students engaging with landlords, ensuring legal compliance, and enhancing student wellbeing through a range of community-based initiatives and events. If you have a passion for supporting students, housing policy, and engaging with collaborators, this is an excellent chance to create a significant influence.As the Private Accommodation Support Advisor, you will manage and maintain the Private Housing database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of landlords and properties. You’ll provide tailored advice to our resident students seeking private accommodation , including those with complex needs, and serve as the primary point of contact for landlords, supporting them with reference requests.Leading the development of our private support advice services, you will continuously improve the experience for both students and landlords. You’ll coordinate Housing Forums and House-Hunting events in collaboration with the Students’ Union, and stay informed of changes in housing legislation and policy to ensure our service remains compliant and effective.The role also requires responding to enquiries via email, phone, and face-to-face, escalating issues when necessary. You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with key local stakeholders including BANES, PBSA providers, and the National Residential Landlords Association, and work closely with the Student Community Partnership to promote positive student-community relations across Bath.About you:
The post holder will have strong knowledge of housing issues and relevant legislation, particularly in the private rented sector.
Experience working with students or young people, ideally in a higher education or support setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a range of stakeholders.
A high level of organisation and attention to detail, with experience managing databases and sensitive records in line with data protection regulations.
A flexible and collaborative approach, with a commitment to inclusivity, wellbeing, and service improvement.
