This is a permanent position based in the Midlands, within a business that puts training, safety, and quality of work front and centre.The company ensures all engineers are equipped with the training, qualifications, and hands-on experience they need to succeed — safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities:Inspection and maintenance of LV/HV substation equipmentProtection testingHV/LV jointing and cable terminationsTroubleshooting and fault findingInstallation of switchgear and transformersTesting of earthing systems and associated equipmentProducing remedial works quotationsCompiling work packages, job instructions and RAMSCoordinating technicians, craftspeople, and subcontractorsManaging resource allocation across projectsLiaising with clients and stakeholders to manage project expectations and deliverablesEnsuring projects meet technical and safety requirementsPlanning and executing HV switching and isolations up to 33kVIssuing permits and documentation per company and customer safety rulesTesting systems, analysing results, and compiling reportsYou’ll ideally bring:HNC in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Distribution)Experience with private networks and/or the renewable energy sectorFamiliarity with current Health & Safety legislationGWO Certification (for onshore wind farms) (optional)Emergency First Aid & Manual HandlingA full, clean UK driving licenceStrong IT and organisational skillPersonal Attributes:Collaborative and team-orientedClear communicator with a positive mindsetAble to interpret technical diagrams and explain concepts clearlyStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsCapable of working under pressure and managing multiple tasks
