We are currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Belper. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education, who are confident managing classrooms & supporting students' learning in the absence of the regular teacher.The RoleAs a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4. This role does not require subject-specific teaching, but you must be able to manage classroom behaviour, ensure that students remain on task, and report any issues back to the relevant staff. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver and supervise lessons set by the class teacher across various subjectsMaintain a focused, safe, and respectful classroom environmentManage behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policySupport students with their learning and answer general questions where neededComplete any administrative tasks related to the cover lesson (e.g. feedback forms)Report any safeguarding or behaviour concerns to senior staffMinimum RequirementsTo be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following:Experience:At least 1 year of experience working with young people (preferably in a secondary school or youth setting)Qualifications:A degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essentialSkills:Confident classroom presence and good behaviour managementStrong communication and organisational skillsAdaptable and resilient approach to managing varied classroom situationsProfessional and approachable mannerDBS Check:All applicants must hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce). If not registered on the update service, the cost may be passed to the applicant.
