- Appraise, monitor and develop skill levels within team
- Organise training where appropriate and record appropriately.
- Prioritise workloads, effectively supervise and organise utilisation of staff.
- Managing and motivate team.
- Maintaining and developing operating procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that operating procedures and tasks are being carried out in accordance with relevant procedures and Quality documentation.
- Ensure the workplace is operating in a safe, fair, effective and constructive manner.
- Supervise in a fair, effective and constructive manner.
- Monitor and maintain shift discipline in line with Company policies.
- Monitor and record machine outputs, scrap levels and efficiencies,
- Facilitate and drive improvement initiatives.
- Be proactive in the development and introduction of new equipment and processes.
- Proactive Problem solving, establishing root cause.
- Effectively liaise with other departments and colleagues on work related issues.
- Attend daily production meetings with relevant facts and data.
- Management of projects as required.
- Embrace and lead 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Champion OEE software introduction
- Communicate the companies goals, objectives and policies to the team
- To lead by example
- Training, coaching and mentoring of Team-leaders
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in leading a team in a technical or high volume manufacturing environment.
- Must have Management training
- Engineering background and/or engineering qualifications are an advantage.
- Essential experience (with the ability to demonstrate achievement) in implementing improvement activities and using modern manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Able to demonstrate Project Manager experience and use of PM tools.
- Must be enthusiastic, flexible, determined and proactive.
- Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with people at all levels within and outside of the organization.
- Good people management skills to effectively lead and develop the team.
- Good PC skills, especially Excel, Word to a minimum level of intermediate or higher
- Ability to effectively manage their own time and tasks and those of their team.
- Proactive and flexible with the ability to use their own initiative and make decisions.
- Have good attention to detail.
- Be able to multi task in a busy environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Be determined and consistent in enforcing the rules and procedures within the Company.
