The school are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PRU Teacher with expertise in supporting students with SEMH needs. As an SEMH Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in tailoring instructional strategies, fostering emotional well-being, and creating a nurturing learning environment. Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that cater to the specific needs of students with SEMH challenges.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to engage students and address diverse learning styles within the SEMH framework.Individualised Support:Collaborate closely with support staff, Behavior Support Assistants, and external agencies to design and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Monitor and assess students' academic progress and emotional well-being, providing targeted support.Behavior Management and Positive Interventions:Implement evidence-based behavior management strategies to create a supportive and respectful classroom environment.
Collaborate with the Behavior Support team to develop and implement positive interventions for challenging behaviors.Social and Emotional Development:Foster a positive school culture that prioritizes social and emotional development alongside academic achievement.
Design and deliver activities that enhance students' social skills, self-regulation, and overall emotional resilience.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to create a collaborative support network for each student.
Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development sessions.Qualifications and Skills:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Significant experience working with students with SEMH needs.
In-depth understanding of SEMH frameworks and evidence-based interventions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic and patient approach.Education and Training:Relevant degree in Education or a related field.
