Teaching Assistant – SEMH SchoolLocation: FerryhillStart Date: September 2025Full-time |Term-time onlyCompetitive pay: £90 to £100 (depending on expereince)Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?We’re working with a well-regarded SEMH school in Ferryhill that is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils who face barriers to learning and help them thrive in a structured, supportive environment.The Role:
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
  • Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Encouraging emotional regulation and positive social interaction
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEND needs
  • A calm, compassionate, and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine desire to support students in overcoming challenges
  • Team Teach or similar training (desirable but not essential)
